How to cancel ChatGPT Go via OpenAI India promotion before it bills you
Will you be charged?
Yes, unless you cancel. The subscription renews as a paid plan 12 months after the day you claimed it, at a price the official terms don't state.
The offer has ended for new claims, but people who claimed it are still being billed on this schedule.
OpenAI's terms say it charges "the current monthly ChatGPT Go fee" when the 12 months end; ChatGPT Go launched in India at ₹399/month (GST included) in Aug 2025. People who redeemed between Nov 4, 2025 and Jan 21, 2026 reach the end of the free year between Nov 4, 2026 and Jan 21, 2027. If you were already paying for ChatGPT Go on the web or Google Play when the promotion started, OpenAI moved your next billing date back by 12 months instead.
