Yes, unless you cancel. The subscription renews as a paid plan 6 months after the day you claimed it, at ¥2,950/month.
Billed by SoftBank on the phone bill from month 7 (¥2,950/month, no pro-rating). Cancelling during the free months forfeits the rest of the free period, but Pro stays on until the end of the current monthly contract period, so cancel during month 6. Leaving for another carrier (MNP) ends the contract and the account drops to free.

How to cancel
SoftBank (My SoftBank)
- Open My SoftBank (the 手続きをする button on SoftBank's Perplexity page links there) and cancel Perplexity Pro for SoftBank, or ask at a SoftBank shop.
Y!mobile (My Y!mobile)
- Cancel Perplexity Pro for SoftBank in My Y!mobile, or at a Y!mobile or SoftBank shop.
LINEMO (My Menu)
- Cancel Perplexity Pro for SoftBank in My Menu.
Deleting your Perplexity account does not cancel it, and neither does cancelling in Perplexity's own settings: billing runs through your carrier. Cancelling during the free months forfeits the remaining free time.
